GTA 6 pre-orders began in June this year and even though official figures were never really shared, reports suggest that people across the globe pre-ordered the game quite extensively. Some reports had also suggested that the game’s Ultimate Edition (which is more expensive) got more pre-orders than the standard one. Over the weekend, Rockstar Games unveiled an extended look of GTA 6 on Netflix. Now as per latest reports, that has resulted in more pre-orders. Read on to find out what we know.

According to a Beebom report originally attributed to sales estimates from Sensor Tower, GTA 6 pre-orders jumped by 436% immediately after the extended look at the game aired on Netflix on August 27. The momentum did not stop there, with purchases climbing even further over the next two days.
Sensor Tower estimates that cumulative pre-orders have now reached around 4.55 million copies, generating approximately $446 million in revenue. That is a huge number for a game that is still months away from its November 19, 2026 release.
The report also added that PlayStation players are responsible for the majority of this spending as around 77% of the estimated sales are from PlayStation. In terms of units, that works out to approximately 3.51 million PlayStation copies.
The 26-minute extended look gave fans a much better idea of what they can expect when they finally step into GTA 6. It starts with a mission involving Jason and Lucia, who head out to pick something up for a contact. Things quickly go wrong, leading to the kind of chaos that GTA players have come to expect.
What makes this opening interesting is that Rockstar puts both protagonists together. We get to see Jason and Lucia working as a team, rather than simply watching them separately. The video also spends some time showing their relationship outside missions. In one particularly relatable moment, Lucia asks Jason what she should wear, he gives her his choice, and she ends up wearing something completely different.
The extended look also shows the two characters taking on missions together, exploring Vice City and simply trying to survive. Along the way, we get glimpses of NPCs, side activities and various parts of the open world.
Visually, the game looks particularly impressive. Reflections add a lot of realism to the environments, while the detailed world makes Vice City look familiar and completely different at the same time.
With the November 19 release date approaching, this extended look appears to have given fans exactly what they wanted: a much closer look at the world they have been waiting to explore for years.
