BGMI Lite Roundup: Krafton is expected to unveil a lighter version of Battlegrounds Mobile India in India soon, dubbed BGMI Lite, with pre-registrations already live on the Google Play Store. The battle royale title will be around 1GB in size before a player’s first match and will allow selective content downloads to save storage for less powerful phones with limited storage space.
The game is confirmed to launch “later this year” and will offer a similar experience to the full-fledged BGMI experience, with a “lighter footprint” and added “flexibility” over what in-game packages players download. Here is a detailed roundup of what you can expect from BGMI Lite.

BGMI Lite is claimed to offer a “high-quality BGMI standard” in a lighter footprint, with more flexible gameplay and no additional mandatory gameplay packages (at least before a player’s first match, according to the Play Store description). Users will get the option to choose which “extra modules” they want to download. Packages a player no longer requires can be deleted to save space.
The mobile game will get the signature Erangel map and other BGMI supplies and combat. Players will be able to join in multiplayer combat, loot gear and weapons, along with the iconic helmet and the lone survivor gets the Chicken Dinner, just like the signature BGMI edition.
Users will be able to carry forward their BGMI items by logging into their BGMI account in the lite version without the requirement of an ID transfer. The game will offer multiplayer connectivity with the flagship package. Plus, both games will be updated to ensure players of both titles enjoy the new enhancements.
The game maker will also offer rewards for users who pre-register for the game, according to the Play Store listing. While BGMI Lite is scheduled to arrive before 2027 for Android users, iOS users may have to wait longer, as the details of a release or pre-registration schedule remain unavailable at the time of writing.
BGMI Lite is Krafton’s attempt to add players having a phone with mediocre or low processing power and lower storage space to handle the full-fledged version. Though it may offer less detailed graphics and lower FPS compared to BGMI, this could be an attempt by Krafton to garner a large audience base in India and bring in a PUBG Mobile Lite alternative.
