Awarapan 2 was released in theaters on August 14, 2026, coinciding with Independence Day weekend. Directed by Nitn Kakkar, the film is the much-awaited sequel to the 2007’s Awarapan. Based on the usual OTT release pattern, Awarpan 2 is expected to make its digital debut in late September 2026 or October 2026. Amazon Prime Video has reportedly acquired streaming rights of the film. Do note that neither the filmmakers or the platform have confirmed these details yet.

Awarapan 2 follows retired gangster Shivam Pandit (Emraan Hashmi), who gets pulled back into the criminal underworld in Thailand to rescue abducted children, including an infant he named Aaliyah after his late love.

Awarapan 2 was reportedly produced with an estimated budget of Rs 45 crore. As per reports, Emraan Hashmi’s latest film collected approximately Rs 21 crore to Rs 23.40 crore net on its opening day in India. Awarapan 2 is facing a theatrical clash against Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947, which reportedly collected Rs 5.75 crore net on its first day. The main cast of Batwara 1947 includes Sunny Deol, Preity G Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Isha Sandhir, Aamir Khan, Abhimanyu Singh, Ali Fazal, Vicky Kaushal and Kanikka Kapur.
