Awarapan 2 was reportedly made with a production budget of around Rs 45 crore. Reports suggest that the film earned between Rs 21 crore and Rs 23.40 crore net in India on its opening day.
The movie was released alongside Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947, which also opened during the Independence Day weekend. The film reportedly collected Rs 5.75 crore net in India on day one. Batwara 1947 features Sunny Deol, Preity G Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Isha Sandhir, Aamir Khan, Abhimanyu Singh, Ali Fazal, Vicky Kaushal and Kanikka Kapur in key roles.
