PlayStation has had quite a lot to show off lately, and its latest State of Play had something for almost every kind of gamer. From a final look at Marvel’s Wolverine before its launch to new details about Ghost of Yotei, Until Dawn 2 and Metro 2039, the recent State of Play brought several announcements along with updates on games we already knew about. And then there was a GTA 6-themed controller, which has managed to capture the attention of many gamers. But if you missed the showcase, there is no need to worry. Here are some of the biggest announcements from the September 2026 PlayStation State of Play.

PlayStation revealed GTA 6-themed limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers which will surely create further hype for the game.
The controllers will be available in white and black colour options, with both versions designed around GTA 6. They are scheduled to launch on November 19, which is also the same day that GTA 6 is set to arrive.
The controllers will be available through select retailers as well as PlayStation Direct. For fans who are already planning to pick up GTA 6 on launch day, this gives them another way to celebrate the arrival of the long-awaited game.
If you have been waiting for Marvel’s Wolverine, PlayStation also has something for you. The game received its final trailer ahead of its September 15 launch.
The trailer gives us a montage of gameplay and story moments and brings back several characters that have already been revealed. These include Jean Grey, Sentinels, Sabertooth, Omega Red, Lady Deathstrike, Mystique and Bolivar Trask.
With the launch now just around the corner, this is essentially the final major look at the game before players can get their hands on it.
Ghost of Yotei also made an appearance, although this time the focus was on what comes after the game’s original release. Sucker Punch is adding a new single-player combat survival mode called Most Wanted.
The mode will feature run-based bounty hunts and will let players take control of different characters. One of the more interesting additions is the return of Jin Sakai, the protagonist of Ghost of Tsushima.
Alongside this, a Complete Edition of Ghost of Yotei is coming on October 1. So, if you have been waiting to jump into the game or want everything in one package, there is another version on the way.
Metro 2039 also received a new gameplay trailer during the showcase. The footage was captured on a PS5 Pro and gives us a look at a shootout taking place inside an apartment building.
More importantly, we now have a release date. Metro 2039 is scheduled to launch on February 4.
For fans of the Metro series, this was one of the more substantial updates from the showcase, as we finally have a date to look forward to along with another look at the gameplay.
The Until Dawn franchise is also coming back with a new game. PlayStation showed a new trailer for Until Dawn 2, giving us a better look at its characters and the choices players will have to make.
This time, the playable cast is a ghost-hunting TV crew. Their investigation takes them to an abandoned sanatorium as well as a remote island, where things obviously do not go according to plan.
The trailer focuses on the relationships between the characters and the consequences of the choices players make. Until Dawn 2 is scheduled to launch on January 28 next year.
These were just some of the biggest announcements from the showcase. PlayStation also showed the first full-length trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, with the expansion set to launch in 2027. On the other hand, Crimson Desert is getting its Charting The Unknown expansion on October 15, while Maneater 2 was revealed with a 2027 launch window.
There were also announcements for new games such as Hunter’s Moon, Uncanyon and Rhapsody in Scarlet, while Double Fine’s Keeper is now available on PS5. The PlayStation Classics catalogue is also getting Mega Man X Command Mission this month, followed by Dino Crisis 2 and Ratchet & Clank later this year.
And that was not all. Gran Turismo 7 is also getting its Spec IV update later this year, with two new tracks, 12 new cars and new modes spread across two parts arriving in October and December.
