One day, Aarti sets out on her mission to find and meet Deepak without alerting him of her plans. He is currently residing in Delhi due to a temporary job contract with his boss Neha. Not helping matters is Deepak's supervisor, Neha (Sushmita Sen), who is romantically interested in him but Deepak is not. His heart is yearning for Aarti. He resigns as a result of this, and in order to make ends meet, he begins driving an auto rickshaw.
Aarti had given Deepak a woolen jumper with a picture of a "lit diya" stitched over it during their contact a few months ago. When Aarti arrives in Delhi, she is unable to locate Deepak and chooses to return because a week has passed and time is running out.
Unbeknownst to her, Aarti had borrowed Deepak's auto and spent the entire day with him. Deepak takes off his shirt, revealing a woolen sweater underneath. Aarti recognizes it, yells out his name, and the two of them recognize one other and how they had been looking for each other the entire time.
The film concludes with Aarti and Deepak hugging each other, while Pritam and Jency (Jaya Bhattacharya) look on in delight.

2. Sanjay Kapoor had decided he would retire from films if the film flopped. He had decided to produce a film with Salman Khan and took his dates. He told Salman "Agar Sirf Tum Chali gayee, yeh dates was tumhare moo pe maroonga".Not only was the film a box office hit, but Sanjay Kapoor also went on to have another surprise hit with " Chuppa Rustom".
3. The film was remade in Bangladesh as "Hothat brishty" (Sudden rain) which was also the debut movie of Bangladeshi superstar Ferdous. The film was also a huge hit
