The novel is set in the scenic forests and settings of Madhya Pradesh and is about a female forest officer who, while combating the man-nature conflict, challenges the sexist assumptions of a mostly male-dominated field in India. The actress prepares to track down an upset tigress who has caused a commotion in the neighborhood, both literally and symbolically. While residents in the surrounding neighborhoods are anxious about their safety, officials discuss the threat level posed by an agitated tigress on the loose. In the middle of this, there are also the officers who are confronted by the actual Sherni and their fate. 2021 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Vijay Balan and starring Vidya Balan is an Indian Forest Service officer. The film addresses issues such as human-animal conflict and wildlife conservation. A jaded forest officer (Vidya Balan) leads a team of trackers and locals to capture a restless tigress while overcoming intense natural and man-made barriers and pressures.
