Parineeti Chopra had not watched any of Saina Nehwal matches before preparing for her role.

Director Amol Gupte had advised Parineeti Chopra to watch matches of Saina Nehwal so that she could prepare better for her role.

Director Amol Gupte was upset with Sharddha Kapoor as she was delaying the film and preferring other projects in favor of this film which she had signed much later.

Sharrman Dey and Rohan Apte who're playing the roles of Damodar and Rohan respectively, were also Assistant directors on the film.

Sharddha Kapoor was the original choice for the role and met Saina Nehwal to prepare for her role and also her family members.But left the film in March 2019 after she couldn't devote her time for the film due to her other big projects like Street Dancer 3D,Chhichhore,Baaghi 3 and Saaho.

Parineeti Chopra for two hours would daily watch match video footage and public appearances of Saina Nehwal to prepare for her character.

Shraddha Kapoor had started shooting for the film in September 2018 .But was halted after she was diagnosed with dengue.First look of the film was also reveled with Shraddha Kapoor.

Bushan Kumar decided to replace Sharddha Kapoor due to her date issues as the film was getting delayed and missing the deadline.They wanted to shoot to wrap up by 2019 end release in early 2020.

Shraddha Kapoor had trained herself for months to prepare for the role.
