In an interview, John Abraham revealed that when he met the cop Sanjeev Kumar, whose role he plays in the film, he asked him if he had ever broken down over the years, after the incident happened. He was left startled when he replied that he wanted to kill himself.

During a meeting, Sanjeev Kumar's wife Shobhna told John Abraham that her husband doesn't speak for more than five minutes. This line was used in the film.

Director Nikkhil Advani revealed that following the orders of the Delhi High Court, he had to beep out a few words and add a disclaimer in the court scene. He said the edits he had been asked to make in the film were heartbreaking.

Prior to the film's release, Maya Sharma, the widow of Mohan Chand Sharma, refused to watch the film as she felt it portrayed incorrect facts and figures.

Certain critics felt John Abraham delivered his career best performance.

John Abraham read the Quran in order to have a point of view and also because he felt that while talking to a certain character, one needs to understand its thought process.

According to John Abraham, this was the first time he played someone who was still serving. He also joked that Sanjeev Kumar could shoot him if he thought he was not good enough at portraying him in the film.

This is the third John Abraham film featuring Nora Fatehi in an item number after Rocky Handsome (2016) and Satyameva Jayate (2018).

According to John Abraham, the film is based on facts existing in the public domain.

The film's UK release version was cut to achieve a 12A rating. 7 seconds of strong violence were cut.

Since the Indian national anthem is played before films are played in cinemas, PVR cinemas released a theatrical promo containing a clip from the film. It featured John Abraham looking at the national flag and then proceeding to speak, "Please stand for the national anthem".

John Abraham's character based on Sanjeev Kumar Yadav is called Sanjay Kumar in the film. Similarly, his wife's name in the film is Nandita Kumar, while her actual name is Shobhna Yadav.

There were times when John Abraham was tempted to take creative liberties but refrained from doing so as he wanted to be true to the character.

In an interview, on being asked about Mission Mangal (2019) which was released on the same day, John Abraham said that he was really happy for himself and Akshay Kumar. He wished both films to do great and make everyone happy.

The film features a remade version of the song "Saaki Saaki" from Musafir (2004).
