Xiaomi Mi 5, Redmi Note 3 to go on open sale from June 1 onwards

Xiaomi has announced that the Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3 smartphones will be available on open sale from June 1 onwards. The announcement was made by India Head, Manu Jain, on Twitter. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will be available on Mi.com, Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal, while the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be exclusive to Mi.com.

To recap, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 3 in India in March this year, and is available in two variants. The 2GB RAM/16GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 9,999, while the 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant is priced at 11,999. The phone sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by a 1.8Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC. The device features 16MP and 5MP cameras on the back and front respectively, and a fingerprint sensor at the back. It is also equipped with a 4050mAh battery. Xiaomi’s flagship device, the Mi 5, was launched in India later that month, at Rs. 24,999. The phone features a 5.15-inch Full HD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 820 SoC with 3GB of RAM. The phone sports 16MP and 4MP cameras and its fingerprint sensor is located on the home button. It has a 3000mAh battery and a USB Type-C port.
