For creators, taking the shot is rarely the end of the process. There is the photograph that needs one last fix, the reference that needs to be saved for a future idea, the information that needs to be pulled together before a shoot and, eventually, the files that need to move to a laptop.
OPPO’s ColorOS 16 is designed around this wider workflow. The operating system brings together tools for editing, organising, creating and moving content, giving the smartphone a more active role after the camera has done its job. AI Editor, AI Mind Space, AI Mind Pilot and O+ Connect each address a different part of that process, while features such as Flux Themes and Live Space add to the experience around it.
A creator can have the right photograph and still not have the final photograph. There might be someone in the background, a reflection across the frame or a group shot where one person has blinked. Sometimes, the composition simply needs another look.
ColorOS 16’s AI Editor suite is built for these moments. AI Eraser can remove unwanted people or objects, AI Recompose can change the composition of an image, and AI Best Face can correct closed eyes in group photographs. AI Unblur can help with blurred images, while AI Reflection Remover addresses unwanted reflections.
The suite also includes AI Portrait Glow for enhancing portrait lighting and AI Clarity Enhancer for improving image clarity. Rather than treating these as separate edits that require a different application for every problem, ColorOS 16 brings them together as part of the phone’s editing experience.
For a creator, this means a photograph can go from almost right to ready to use without taking a detour through multiple tools.The workflow, however, is not limited to the images that make it to the gallery.
Creators are constantly collecting things before they know exactly what they will become. A screenshot can become a visual reference. A voice note can turn into a reel idea. A saved location can become the setting for a future shoot. The problem is keeping all of these pieces accessible when the idea finally takes shape.
AI Mind Space in ColorOS 16 gives them a place to stay.
On supported OPPO devices, the customizable Snap Key can be used to quickly capture information and save it to Mind Space. Smart Collections organise saved material, making it easier to group related references instead of leaving them scattered across screenshots, notes and other parts of the phone.
The integration with Gemini adds another layer. Information saved in Mind Space can be used to help with tasks, allowing creators to work from the material they have already collected. A folder of references does not have to remain a folder of references; it can become useful input for planning what comes next.
This changes the role of saved content on the phone. Instead of being a collection of things to look at later, it can become part of the work itself.
The same workflow increasingly includes AI. A creator may need to research a topic, develop an idea, work through a question or simply get another perspective before deciding what to make.
ColorOS 16’s AI Mind Pilot brings Google Gemini, Perplexity and ChatGPT into one interface on supported OPPO devices. Rather than treating these as completely separate destinations, Mind Pilot puts different AI services within reach from the same place.
This sits alongside the AI capabilities already built into ColorOS 16, including the editing tools within AI Editor and the Gemini integration with AI Mind Space. AI is therefore not limited to one particular task or one particular app. It appears at different points in the process, depending on what the creator is trying to do.
ColorOS 16 also extends the experience outside these core creative tasks. Flux Themes allows users to personalise the home screen, while Live Space and Aqua Dynamics can surface supported information such as sports scores and ride updates.
These features may sit outside the actual creation process, but they contribute to the larger idea behind ColorOS 16: the operating system should remain useful throughout the day, rather than only when a particular application is open.
Once the content is ready, the workflow often leaves the phone. A creator may want to edit photographs on a larger display, move video files to a computer or copy text from the phone into a document. O+ Connect is built around this part of the process, supporting file sharing between supported OPPO devices and computers as well as screen mirroring and clipboard sharing.
The phone can remain the starting point without becoming a bottleneck. Files can move to the computer, the phone can be mirrored when needed, and content can be copied across devices as the work continues.
For creators who regularly switch between a smartphone and a computer, this is an important part of the experience because the work itself does not stay on one device. Shooting may happen on the phone, editing may happen on a laptop and an idea may move between both several times before it is finished. For OPPO, the more interesting shift is in how these capabilities are brought together. Editing, collecting references, working with AI and connecting to a computer are all familiar parts of a creator’s workflow, but they have traditionally lived across different apps, tools and devices.

They should be able to fix a frame without opening another editor, save an idea without losing it in their gallery, bring in AI without jumping between services, and move to a bigger screen when the work calls for it.
