The Vivo Xplay is also expected to come with a 6-inch dual-curved display, 16MP/8MP cameras and will be unveiled on March 1

Vivo has confirmed that its upcoming flagship phone, Xplay 5, will come with 6GB of RAM. This could make the smartphone the first to come with that amount of RAM. The company has also confirmed that the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and will be unveiled on March 1. Vivo had earlier confirmed that the phone would come with a dual-curved display. Rumours suggest that the Vivo XPlay 5 may come with a 6-inch display and 4,300mAh battery. The phone may also be equipped with a 16MP primary camera and an 8MP front facing camera.

Up until now, most flagship devices, including the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S7 and the LG G5, came equipped with 4GB of RAM. In September last year, Samsung had announced that it had started mass producing 6GB LPDDR4 mobile DRAM that is based on its 20nm process. There were also rumours that LeEco may launch a smartphone with 6GB of RAM and the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 has also been tipped to come with 6GB RAM.
