Redmi Note 17 Pro vs Vivo S2 FE vs Motorola Edge 70 Pro: Chinese smartphone maker Vivo unveiled the Vivo S2 FE at its vivo NEXT 2026 event today. The smartphone comes with a 10,000mAh battery and sits in the sub-Rs 40,000 price range in India. At that price, it competes with notable smartphones such as the Motorola Edge 70 Pro.

Display: Vivo S2 FE comes with a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 2,000nits brightness. Redmi Note 17 Pro gets a 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 3,500nits peak brightness. In comparison, the Edge 70 Pro sports a 6.8-inch 1.5K pOLED panel with up to 144Hz refresh rate and 5,200nits peak brightness.
Processor: The latest S2 FE gets a 6nm octa-core Dimensity 7300e chipset. Redmi’s Note device is powered by a 4nm octa-core Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor. The most powerful of the three, Motorola’s offering sports a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chip. If you want the most performance-focused smartphone, the Motorola offering can be a good deal.
Software: While the S2 FE runs on OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, the Motorola and Redmi devices boot on HelloUI and HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 out of the box, respectively. Software is largely a personal preference for most buyers.
Battery: Vivo’s latest offering houses a massive 10,000mAh battery with 44W wired charging. In comparison, the Note 17 Pro and Edge 70 Pro offer a SiCa 9,000mAh battery with 67W wired charging and a SiCa 6,500mAh cell with 90W wired charging, respectively. While Vivo brings the largest cell, Moto offers the fastest charging. Redmi brings a balance of the two.
Cameras: The S2 FE offers 50MP + 2MP rear cameras and a 32MP selfie shooter. On the other hand, the Redmi smartphone ships with a 50MP OIS main + 8MP ultrawide and a 16MP selfie shooter. Lastly, the Edge 70 Pro houses a 50MP primary + 50MP ultrawide rear and a 50MP selfie camera. In terms of optics, Motorola offers the best hardware.
Launched at a starting price of Rs 38,999, Vivo S2 FE will go on sale from October 20. In comparison, the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G starts at Rs 36,999. The Motorola Edge 70 Pro is available at a starting price of Rs 39,999.
