Samsung S27 Ultra vs iPhone 18 Pro Max vs Vivo X300 Ultra: South Korean tech giant Samsung is expected to announce the Samsung S27 series early next year. The lineup will likely include the Galaxy S27 Ultra, which could serve as a direct rival to the latest iPhone 18 Pro series.
Not only that, Vivo is rumoured to unveil the X500 Ultra next year in March or April. However, chances of an India debut are low at the moment, making the X300 Ultra the direct rival of these flagship devices. Hence, here is a comparison of the iPhone 18 Pro Max, Vivo X300 Ultra and the upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra, highlighting the key differences.

Display: The S27 Ultra could sport a 6.9-inch 2K 120Hz anti-reflective OLED screen with the 2nd-generation Privacy Display feature. iPhone 18 Pro Max sports a 6.9-inch 120Hz OLED screen with anti-reflective coating. Finally, the Vivo X300 Ultra gets a 6.82-inch 144Hz OLED panel.
Performance: The S27 Ultra may be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and get LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.1 storage. While the iPhone 18 Pro Max runs on an A20 Pro chip, the Chinese Ultra offers a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
Software and more: The Galaxy S27 Ultra could sport seven years of OS update commitment with S Pen support. While the 18 Pro Max runs on iOS 27, the Vivo counterpart uses OriginOS 6 based on Android 16.
Battery: While the S27 Ultra could house a 5,700mAh cell with 60W wired and 25W wireless charging, the 18 Pro Max gets a 5,391mAh battery. Vivo’s Ultra sports a 6,600mAh cell that supports 100W wired and 40W wireless charging.
Cameras: As for the optics, the S27 Ultra could have a 200MP + 50MP ultrawide + 50MP 5x optical rear lens and a 16MP selfie shooter. The 18 Pro Max sports a 48MP main + 48MP ultrawide + 48MP telephoto rear lenses and an 18MP Center Stage selfie shooter and the X300 Ultra offers a 200MP + 50MP + 200MP rear and a 50MP selfie lens.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra could sit in the Rs 1,50,000-1,70,000 price range. Samsung’s upcoming flagship is expected to launch around February-March 2027. As for the announced phones, Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,79,900 and the Vivo X300 Ultra is available at a price of Rs 1,59,999 in the country.
