OnePlus has announced that it will roll out an OTA update for OnePlus 2 to enable VoLTE support on the device. The update will be rolled out to users in the next quarter, but the exact date is not yet known. The company’s current flagship, the OnePlus 3, already offers VoLTE. This announcement comes after the launch of Reliance Jio’s services, which work exclusively on the LTE network. Further, Jio has offered a number of very attractive plans that offer free unlimited voice calling on LTE and SMS. On top of this, Jio also offers a welcome pack that lets users enjoy unlimited data for a certain period.

In its official forum, the company stated, “Over last several months, we have been closely collaborating with all telecom partners to enable a full repertoire of upcoming technologies and services including VoLTE out of the box on our latest flagship device, the OnePlus 3.”

However, users of the OnePlus One and OnePlus X won’t get the update to enable VoLTE. Users of the two devices using Jio services are advised to download the Jio4GVoice app to “experience enhanced call quality on the network.” Reliance Jio SIM cards are not compatible with all smartphones and to know which phones work with the SIM, click here.
