OnePlus 16 will soon be making its debut in China. The flagship smartphone will reportedly offer a great performance upgrade along with the 165Hz system-wide refresh rate and support up to 185Hz in compatible games. The company has also confirmed a 200MP primary camera and a new gaming-focused hardware and software system designed to improve sustained performance, touch response and connectivity. However, details about an India launch are still unclear. Reports have suggested a November debut, while other claims point to a possible delay or a different model being launched in India. The OnePlus 16 will make its debut in China on October 12, with reservations already open in the country. The launch announcement was made by OnePlus China president Li Jie Louis at the company’s 2026 OnePlus Gaming Conference.
However, the brand has not confirmed when the phone will arrive in India or other global markets. Some reports have pointed to November for India, while other reports suggest the launch can be delayed. There have also been claims that OnePlus can launch the OnePlus 16R instead of the standard model in India.
Gaming is one of the main areas of focus for the new flagship. The OnePlus 16 will feature a display capable of running at 165Hz across the system, with a higher 185Hz mode available for supported games. OnePlus says native 185fps gaming will be available in titles including Peace Elite, Arena Breakout, Nizhan: Future and Naruto Mobile.
The phone will also introduce the company’s new Fengchi Gaming Kernel, which is designed to manage hardware resources and maintain high frame rates during extended gaming sessions. A dedicated three-chip esports system will handle networking, touch and display processing to improve latency and responsiveness.
For cameras, OnePlus has confirmed a 200MP primary sensor. The phone is also expected to feature a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a 50MP autofocus front camera.
Other reported specifications include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. A 9,000mAh battery, 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging are also tipped, although these details have not been fully confirmed.
The OnePlus 16 is expected to feature an IP69K rating and come in Dark Forest, Mars Masterpiece and Tomorrow Starlight finishes.
OnePlus has not announced the India price or confirmed an Indian launch for the OnePlus 16. The phone is reportedly expected to start at CNY 4,999 in China, while unofficial estimates put the potential India price between Rs 64,999 and Rs 89,990 depending on the configuration. These prices are based on leaks and should not be treated as official until OnePlus announces the phone’s India availability and pricing.
