Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has once again grabbed attention away from the cricket pitch and this time because of the smartphone he was seen carrying. After an ODI match with West Indies in which he reached the milestone of 15,000 runs, he was spotted using an iPhone. Interestingly, that device was not the latest iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max.
A closer look at the handset suggests that Kohli was using an Apple iPhone Air. Now, Kohli has posted a mirror selfie as an Instagram story where he was seen carrying a black iPhone Air in a gym.
The handset seen with Kohli is the iPhone Air, Apple’s last year’s ultra-thin iPhone, which was designed to be lighter and slimmer than the company’s larger Pro models. The phone measures just 5.6mm in thickness and weighs 165 grams, making it one of the more portable models in Apple’s current lineup.
The iPhone Air features a 6.5-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision and can reach up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness. It features Apple’s A19 Pro chipset, paired with up to 12GB RAM. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB and 1TB.
For photography, the phone has a single 48-megapixel rear camera with sensor-shift optical image stabilisation. The front camera is an 18-megapixel ultra-wide unit, with both cameras supporting 4K Dolby Vision video recording.
The iPhone Air originally launched in India at Rs 1,29,900, but Apple has since increased its price to Rs 1,49,900 following the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro series. That represents a Rs 20,000 increase in the official price. However, the device can still be found at lower prices through online retailers and may receive additional discounts during upcoming festive sales.
The iPhone Air comes with a Grade 5 titanium frame, Ceramic Shield 2 protection and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It runs iOS 27 and supports all the Apple Intelligence features.
