Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is taking a more hands-on approach to the company’s artificial intelligence push. The company’s president recently revealed that Zuckerberg has physically moved his seat to work directly among engineers and has even returned to writing code. According to Meta President Dina Powell McCormick, Zuckerberg has moved his desk into the AI lab, where he now works closely with Scale AI cofounder Alexandr Wang and former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman. She noted that he is coding regularly, sometimes offering direct input as projects develop. While she joked that engineers may feel they are getting extra advice, she also stressed that Zuckerberg believes deep involvement is necessary to build stronger AI systems.

This change is part of Meta’s bigger plan to become stronger in artificial intelligence. The firm is investing heavily in its new team, reportedly known as the Superintelligence Labs.
