John Ternus-led Apple is expected to unveil a range of new products in October and November 2026. While three new home-focused gadgets are expected on October 13, an iPad mini OLED and a new touch-enabled MacBook Pro OLED are expected next month. Further, the new CEO is also spending time supervising the hardware and software divisions’ design work.
According to a Power On newsletter by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new Apple CEO is focusing his priorities on the hardware and software design of Apple products. In contrast, Tim Cook focused more on divisions such as operations, supply chain, sales, financial strategy, public policy, privacy and relations with state governments. For better context, here are all the details Gurman highlighted in his report.

The Cupertino-based tech giant is also working on a MacBook Pro with an OLED touch-enabled screen and an iPad mini OLED, which could follow after the launch of the three rumoured home lifestyle products. iPad mini is expected to arrive in October or November this year with a notable screen upgrade, a newer processor (likely A20 Pro) and a FaceTime camera sensor in landscape orientation.
The upcoming MacBook Pro will be a notable product to get support for touch-based interactions and an OLED panel for the first time on Apple laptops. Apple is expected to introduce changes in macOS Golden Gate to incorporate this touch input functionality and Dynamic Island.
Further, the upcoming MacBook will likely be notably lighter than its predecessors. This could be achieved by modifying the device’s internals, using smaller parts and rejigging components. The Pro MacBook is expected next month.
Ternus is more focused towards working with hardware and product engineering divisions. Further, the CEO is also devoting attention to the design vertical, which lacks a centrepiece of power. Gurman notes the top executive is now dedicating attention to the industrial design and human interface verticals.
Meanwhile, Apple is rumoured to unveil a smart home hub with a screen, a new Apple TV set-top box and a new HomePod mini on October 13. These devices will rely on Apple’s voice assistant Siri, supercharged with AI. You can read more about this here.
