Sundar Pichai has recently offered a glimpse into this shift, explaining how AI agents help him oversee developments across the organisation. Speaking on Alex Heath’s Sources podcast, Google CEO said the agents summarise the previous day’s activities, provide insights into model development and computing resource usage, and track conversations across internal chat groups. Their ability to operate continuously in the cloud helps him stay informed while focusing on emerging priorities. Despite these capabilities, Pichai emphasised that human involvement remains central to important decisions, including how computing resources are allocated. Follow along with the article to learn everything Pichai said about the AI agents and their use case in his daily life during the podcast.
Sundar Pichai was recently featured in the Sources podcast, which is hosted by Alex Heath. During the podcast, Google CEO revealed that keeping up with everything happening at Google could easily take him an hour every day. However, his AI agents now handle much of the initial information gathering by summarising developments from the previous 24 hours.
Not only that, but he also explained that these AI agents help him understand how a model is developed, see how Google’s computing resources are being used, and track discussions across many internal chat groups without having to read every message himself.

While describing these agents, he noted that they help him follow conversations spread across multiple company chat groups without reading every message. However, Pichai also added that he can still examine the details himself when a topic requires closer attention.
Furthermore, Pichai said that AI does not make important decisions on its own. He added that humans, including himself, are still involved in key decisions about how computing resources are used.
During the podcast, Pichai noted that as the AI agents run on the cloud, they can run 24/7 without the need for breaks. Furthermore, they have all your context so they can pick up where you left off. Pichai also added, ‘It’s a continuum there. By the time it’s doing that, you would be applying yourself to the next problem and so on.’
