Apple has officially announced iOS 27 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026. The new software update is built on the Liquid Glass design language introduced with iOS 26 and brings the most anticipated revamped Siri experience, deeper Apple Intelligence integration and slew of productivity focused features. The company says that the new update makes the iPhone more personal, intelligent and customisation. Check out the new features, eligible devices and release timeline details.

iOS 27 features

Among the visual additions in iOS 27 is a new opacity control for the Liquid Glass interface. The users will be able to adjust the transparency of the interface elements such as tab bars and menus.

The company has also introduced a newly built Siri powered by what it calls Siri AI. This new upgraded assistant is designed to offer more conversational and context aware experience with the ability to understand content displayed on the screen. Siri responses now appear via the Dynamic Island, while users can customise voice characteristics such as pacing and expressiveness.

A dedicated Siri app has also been introduced, allowing users to access conversation history synced through iCloud. The assistant can additionally work with the Camera app to identify objects, provide contextual information, and save those interactions for future reference. At launch, Siri AI will be available in English.

Apple Intelligence is being expanded across several system applications. Safari gains AI-powered tab organisation and a new “Notify Me” feature that can track webpage updates. The Passwords app can automatically update credentials for supported accounts, while users will also be able to create shortcuts using natural language prompts.
