Apple is planning to introduce iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27 at the WWDC 2026 and this time, the focus will be on AI and user experience. All these updates are said to bring much-anticipated Apple Intelligence features. According to Bloomberg’s report by Mark Gurman, the update will bring new AI tools in photo editing to take on Samsung Galaxy AI features. While the exact details have not been announced by Apple, here is everything that we know.
As per the reports, Apple may be rolling out features like extending image backgrounds using generative AI, automatically enhancing lighting and quality and reframing photos after capture. Existing tools like object removal are also expected to be integrated into the AI suite. This means that the users will be able to get photo editing options, something that iPhone users have been demanding for a while now.
The company is also expected to introduce a more capable Siri with the iOS 27. The voice assistant is said to get some big changes, possibly geared up with advanced AI models by Google. If reports are believed to be true, the new Siri can support more natural, conversational interactions, improved contextual understanding and the ability to execute multi-step tasks across apps with a single command. A standalone Siri app and deeper system-wide integration may also debut.
Another change is in how Apple devices interact with accessories. The upgraded Siri experience may extend to AirPods, turning them into more capable and voice-first AI companions. With improved responsiveness and intelligence, users may be able to rely more on voice commands without needing to manually open apps.
As mentioned above, the iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and other new software updates will be announced at WWDC 2026 on June 8. The iOS 27 will debut along with the iPhone 18 Pro series and possibly the iPhone Ultra in September and will gradually be available for the previous generation iPhones. The dates are not announced yet.
