Apple is gearing up for its biggest ever launch event of the year with the company expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its first foldable iPhone on September 9. The event, titled ‘Surprise and Shine’, will be held at Apple Park in Cupertino and will also mark the first major iPhone launch under new CEO John Ternus. The Apple keynote will begin at 10:00 AM Pacific Time on September 9 (10:30 PM IST) in India. Apple will stream the event through its official website and Apple TV app, while viewers can also watch it on the company’s official YouTube channel.
This year’s event is said to focus on Apple’s premium iPhone lineup. As per the reports, the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and second-generation iPhone Air may be pushed to spring 2027, leaving the September event to the Pro models and foldable iPhone.
The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max may retain a 6.9-inch panel. Both models are tipped to use Apple’s next-generation A20 Pro chip, reportedly manufactured using a 2nm process.
You can expect camera upgrades as well. It includes improved 48-megapixel sensors. The iPhone 18 Pro Max may introduce a variable-aperture main camera, allowing greater control over light and depth of field. A smaller Dynamic Island and larger batteries are also among the reported changes.
Apple’s biggest announcement may be Apple’s long rumoured foldable iPhone, which is said to carry the iPhone Ultra or iPhone Duo. The reports suggest a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch inner screen, both supporting a 120Hz refresh rate.
The foldable is also tipped to use the A20 Pro chip with 12GB RAM and may offer storage options ranging from 256GB to 2TB. Unlike current flagship iPhones, it may rely on Touch ID instead of Face ID because of the phone’s slim folding design.
As per the reports, the iPhone 18 Pro can cost Rs 1,44,900 in India, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max might cost Rs 1,59,900. On the other hand, the Apple iPhone Ultra or Apple iPhone Duo is said to be priced at Rs 2,49,900. Again, these details are not confirmed and we may have to wait for a few more hours.
