GTA 6 is getting another major reveal later this month, but this time Rockstar Games is doing things a little differently. The upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix before it becomes available on YouTube, giving the streaming platform a six-hour exclusive window. Now, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has spoken about the unusual partnership and hinted that Rockstar may have something bigger planned than a regular gameplay trailer. However, he is still keeping the details under wraps. Here is everything we know so far.

The GTA 6 Extended Look will premiere on Netflix on August 27 at 3 PM ET, which is 8 PM UK time. Six hours later, it will be out on Rockstar Games’ official YouTube channel and the GTA 6 website.
Speaking to IGN, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said that Rockstar felt Netflix would be a great way to showcase the extended trailer. He did not reveal details about the agreement between the two companies, but said the presentation would eventually be available through Rockstar’s own channels and potentially other outlets as well.
The move could give GTA 6 access to an audience far beyond regular gaming fans. Netflix has hundreds of millions of subscribers, meaning people who may not normally follow gaming news could come across the GTA 6 presentation while browsing the streaming service.
Netflix already has a connection with the Grand Theft Auto franchise too. The platform offers mobile versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas as part of its gaming catalogue.
However, the six-hour Netflix exclusivity has not gone down well with everyone. Some GTA fans have criticised Rockstar for making the presentation available on Netflix before releasing it for free on YouTube.
So what can we expect from GTA 6 Extended Look? It is still hard to say as Rockstar is keeping all details under wraps. When IGN asked Strauss whether the presentation would be worth subscribing to Netflix for, the Take-Two boss did not get into any details and didn’t even confirm how long it would be. He did, however, suggest that the presentation will be worth watching. He added Rockstar is trying new things with its marketing and added that he expects everyone will tune in.
That said, if we were to predict, the name Extended Look does suggest that this could be more substantial than a standard GTA 6 trailer. A proper gameplay presentation is one possibility, especially since fans have been waiting for a longer look at how the game actually plays.
There have also been reports claiming that the presentation could run for around 20 minutes, although this has not been confirmed by Rockstar. The information reportedly came from Netflix customer support (which might even be a bot), so it should be treated as a rumour for now.
For now, Rockstar is keeping the contents of the Extended Look a secret. But with GTA 6 scheduled to launch on November 19, we will not have to wait long to find out what the studio has been preparing.
