Netflix’s hit period drama Bridgerton is preparing for its next chapter. Bridgerton season 5 will focus on Francesca Bridgerton, a character who has stayed away from the spotlight compared to her siblings. Based on Julia Quinn’s novel When He Was Wicked, the story will follow Francesca as she deals with loss, healing, and a new chapter in her life. The season will also introduce the franchise’s first same-sex romance. From the release timeline to the plot, here is everything we know so far about Bridgerton season 5.
Bridgerton season 5 will centre around Francesca Bridgerton after the death of her husband, John Stirling. Following the loss, Francesca chooses to distance herself from society. Nearly two years after John’s death, Francesca begins thinking about returning to society. However, her life takes an unexpected turn when Michaela Stirling, John’s cousin, enters the picture to take care of the Stirling family estate.
Over time, Francesca and Michaela develop a close bond. As they spend more time together, their bond grows stronger and eventually develops into a deeper relationship. The connection helps Francesca rediscover love while also learning more about herself.
