Lumio Aura 5 launched in India with 100W RMS, 105dB SPL, 35Hz bass and HDMI ARC: Price and specifications

HIGHLIGHTS

Lumio Aura 5 will be available for Rs 19,999 as an introductory price on Amazon India starting October 15.

It supports 100W sustained output and 200W peak power, with a claimed 105dB SPL at 1 metre.

Along with it, you get a 'Minion' remote with an OLED display.

After TVs and projectors, Lumio is entering the audio space with Aura 5, a powered bookshelf speaker system. It comes with two 4.5-inch aluminium woofers, 1-inch silk dome tweeters, and features like HDMI ARC, Bluetooth 5.4, USB audio, and a dedicated OLED remote. The pitch is unlike a soundbar; the two physical cabinets create a true left-right stereo setup, while the powered design removes the need for a separate amplifier. So, it is aimed at buyers who want the stereo separation of traditional Hi-Fi speakers without the need for a separate amplifier and receiver setup.

Price and availability

The Lumio Aura 5 is priced at Rs 24,999, but there is an early bird offer price of Rs 19,999 for a limited period. The sale begins on October 15 through Amazon India. There are additional bank offers, which you can check out on the e-commerce platform.

Specifications and features

The Aura 5 uses composite wood cabinets with a convex front panel. Lumio says the cabinet is designed to reduce unwanted acoustic resonance, while the curved front panel is intended to spread high-frequency energy more evenly around the room. Each speaker has a 4.5-inch aluminium woofer and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter, with the crossover separating the frequencies handled by each driver.

The powered design is one of the main differences from conventional passive bookshelf speakers. There is no separate amplifier or receiver to buy, which should make the Aura 5 easier to integrate into a living room, desk or dedicated listening setup. HDMI ARC also allows it to work with a compatible TV, with HDMI-CEC enabling the speakers to power on and off alongside the television.

For other sources, the speakers support optical, coaxial, RCA and USB audio, and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless connectivity. It works within a Bluetooth range of up to 8 metres. You can also use USB with flash drives for FLAC and MP3 playback.

The audio hardware is rated for 100W sustained output and 200W peak power, with a claimed 105dB SPL at 1 metre. Lumio also quotes 35Hz bass extension, less than 1% total harmonic distortion and a 35Hz-20kHz response within ±3dB. These figures suggest that the speakers are intended to provide substantial low-end output without requiring a separate subwoofer, although real-world bass performance will still depend on room placement and acoustics.

You can also manually adjust bass, treble, and volume using dedicated physical controls on the speaker. There is also the option to control it using what Lumio calls a ‘Minion’ OLED remote. The remote can switch inputs and sound modes, while its OLED display confirms changes. Lumio says adjustments are processed by the onboard DSP in real time. The company’s Aura app is coming soon on both iOS and Android.

The system also offers three DGS audio modes: Studio, Cinema and Groove. Studio is positioned as the most balanced profile, Cinema increases emphasis on high frequencies for dialogue and film detail, while Groove raises bass response for music with a stronger low-end focus.

The company is even making a lossless playback pitch. Lumio specifies support for up to 24-bit/48kHz audio and says the system is capable of bit-perfect output through its Hi-Fi speakers.

So, there are a lot of interesting features here, and we look forward to testing these soon.
