X down: Elon Musk’s social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) is currently facing a massive outage. Thousand of users are reporting issues with the platform. The company has not confirmed the outage at the time of the writing, and official confirmation is still awaited. On Downdetector, which is an online outage monitoring platform, more than 3,000 users in the US have reported problems with the social media platform. So far, there are just around 50 reports in India.
Most reports on Downdetector are related to the app. Data from Downdetector shows that about 46 per cent of users are facing issues with the app, 34 per cent reported problems with the feed/timeline, and the remaining 12 per cent reported issues with the website. As per Downdetector, reports of the outage started appearing at around 7:30 AM.

Usually, when online platforms go down, users head to X for updates and reactions. But with X itself facing issues, many lost their usual space for live reactions, So, users shared their experiences on DownDetector. While one user wrote, “searching not working, comments and quote tweets not showing,” another posted, “Im tired elon. Im so tired. Just delete the website.”

The company is yet to release an official statement regarding the outage. For now, users will just have to wait for the company to identify the issue and resolve it.
