Meta-owned WhatsApp has announced a set of new features that aim to make the messaging app easier to use and more organised. The update introduces several useful additions, including cross-platform chat transfer, support for multiple accounts on iPhone, smarter storage management, and new AI-powered tools.

‘Over time, our chats become a record of the moments that matter: conversations with family, laughs with friends, the photos and videos we couldn’t stop sharing. To help you make the most of all of it, we’re rolling out new ways to make WhatsApp even easier to use,’ the platform announced.

Below are all the new features that the Meta-owned messaging platform has announced.

Storage management in chats

Over time, chats on WhatsApp can become cluttered with photos, videos, and other files that take up a lot of storage space. To address this, WhatsApp is introducing a new way to find and delete large files directly from a chat. Users can open a conversation, tap the chat name, and go to Manage Storage which allows users to clear unnecessary media wit

WhatsApp is also adding the option to remove only media files when clearing a chat. This means users can keep their message history while deleting photos and videos.

iOS to Android chat transfer

One of the most notable updates is improved chat transfer support. WhatsApp’s chat transfer feature will now allow users to move their chat history from iOS to Android.

Two WhatsApp accounts on one iPhone

WhatsApp is also bringing multi-account support to iPhones. This means that iPhone users can now log in with two different WhatsApp accounts on a single device. This feature is particularly useful for people who want to keep personal and work conversations separate without carrying two phones.

AI-powered tools and sticker suggestions

The update also introduces new AI features powered by Meta. With Meta AI, users can edit photos before sending them in chat. Users can remove unwanted objects, change backgrounds or apply a fun style.

Also, Writing Help can now draft a suggested reply based on your chats. WhatsApp is also improving how stickers work. When users type an emoji, the app may suggest matching stickers that express the same emotion.
