HIGHLIGHTS

Spotify Diwali Hub is available on Android.

It brings new Diwali-themed music playlists.

There are a lot more interesting things in the mix. So, let’s find out about them.

Spotify is jazzing up the festive mood with Diwali Hub, a section within the app that collates all the playlists and Diwali-centric music elements. As Diwali is a festival of sharing joy, there is the option for you to create blends and mixes with fellow Spotify users and even some popular artists. Here’s all you can do with this update:

Spotify Diwali Hub features

In case you haven’t experienced it already, the next time you open Spotify for Android app, you will see the Diwali Hub front and center on the main screen. It reads, “Discover all the top songs of Diwali and playlists made just for you”.

Tap on it and inside you will see some famous artists (mostly known for their work in Bollywood) wishing Happy Diwali to their fans and Spotify users in general.

Beneath it, there is a ‘Made for you’ section which lists 50 of the most listened-to songs by you in the past.

Next, you have the Top Diwali songs which again are some of the trending tracks and may not strictly fall into your taste of Diwali music.

You are also being given the option to create Diwali Blend with artists like A R Rahman, G V Prakash, etc.

Finally, as you’d guess, there are various playlists based on your vibe. These could include party bops to devotional songs.

“As artists, we usually share the music we make with our listeners on Spotify. This Diwali, with Blend, we get an opportunity to share the music that inspires us or is on repeat on our playlists. Not only that, the fans get to add their music to our playlists, and the shared playlist is such a lovely way for us to connect with each other. I hope they enjoy what I listen to as much as I do,” said A R Rahman.

You can share these songs and playlists on Instagram and while you do so, use “Spotify Diwali” stickers.
