Here is a step-by-step guide to help you change your address easily using the new Aadhaar app at home.

  • Make sure that you’ve a stable internet connection prior to starting the update process. We advise you to use Wi-Fi for the same.
  • You should be in a well-lit area with a clear background for face authentication.
  • Keep the documents you plan to use for the update process near you.
  • If you’re planning to update using a family member’s Aadhaar card, you must have that with you.
  • Keep your Aadhaar-linked mobile number with you for the OTPs.

How to update your address using the Aadhaar app

1. Download and install the latest Aadhaar app on your Android or iOS smartphone.

2. Open the app and register using your Aadhaar number, registered mobile number, and Face ID.

3. Log in to the app and navigate to Services > Address Update.

4. Select My Document or A Family Member’s Aadhaar, then tap Continue to Update Address.

5. If you select My Document, follow these steps:

  • Choose your preferred document from the list and tap Continue to Upload Document.
  • Upload the document by selecting either Scan the document directly or Select files to upload, then tap Continue to Add New Address.
  • Enter your complete address and tap Preview New Address.
  • Verify the address details and tap Continue to Face Authentication.

6. If you select A Family Member’s Aadhaar, follow these steps:

  • Enter the Aadhaar number of the family member and select your relationship with them.
  • Tap Continue to Face Authentication.

7. Make sure that the biometric locking is disabled before proceeding to the face authentication. After successful authentication, tap Confirm and Pay.

8. Follow the on-screen instructions and complete the payment of Rs 75.
