PAN card holders no longer need to wait for a physical card to arrive by post, as the Income Tax Department offers an e-PAN, which is a digital version of the Permanent Account Number card carrying the same value as the physical card and works for most official purposes. The e-PAN is as good as the physical card and may be used for most of the official activities. If you have lost your PAN card or want a digital copy for simple online verification, then getting an e-PAN is a matter of a few minutes. Here is a simple guide on how to download your e-PAN card online.
Before you download your e-PAN keep in mind the below mentioned:
Here are two easy methods using which you can download your e-PAN card:
Method 1: Via Protean (NSDL) or UTIITSL portal
Open your web browser > go to the Protean e-Gov website or UTIITSL website > select Download e-PAN > enter your PAN, Aadhaar number and date of birth > submit request > verification using OTP > pay nominal fees > download your e-PAN card.
Once you’ve verified yourself, then your e-PAN will appear as a downloadable PDF. Do note that it will be a password-protected PDF and can be unlocked by entering your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format.
