OPPO Find X10: Big on cameras, bigger on battery life

There is always something refreshing about a flagship smartphone that doesn't feel the need to be the biggest device in its category. The OPPO Find X10 is a prime example. As mentioned in our first impressions article — the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max takes things up a notch with its larger display and more ambitious camera hardware; the standard Find X10 makes quite a convincing proposition for itself. It brings two 200MP cameras, Hasselblad imaging, an 8,000mAh battery, and a gorgeous ProXDR AMOLED display into a relatively compact form factor. We have spent some reasonable time with the phone, and what stands out is how much OPPO has packed into it without making it feel like an oversized flagship. There is plenty to like here. Let’s dive right in.

OPPO Find X10: Two 200MP cameras make this a serious photography phone

Considering the Find X series' reputation for smartphone photography, the camera system is arguably the biggest talking point of the OPPO Find X10. And OPPO has certainly not held back on the hardware. The phone features a 200MP Hasselblad main camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and an f/1.6 aperture, alongside a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, an f/2.6 aperture, and 2.8x optical zoom. It also has a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP front camera with autofocus.

Having spent time exploring the camera system, what we particularly like is how much detail the primary camera captures. Photographs look sharp, with good texture retention and a pleasing amount of contrast. Colours have a nice vibrancy without looking excessively saturated, while the dynamic range helps retain details in brighter and darker areas of a scene. The image processing also feels relatively restrained, avoiding the overly sharpened appearance that can sometimes affect smartphone photographs. The result is a camera that produces photographs that look good straight out of the camera, without requiring much additional editing.

The 200MP periscope telephoto camera is another highlight. Its 2.8x optical zoom offers a useful perspective for portraits, architecture, and distant subjects. The high-resolution sensor also allows you to crop into photographs while retaining plenty of detail. I particularly like having this level of flexibility on a phone, as telephoto photography is often one of the first areas where manufacturers make compromises outside their Pro and Ultra models. Low-light performance is impressive too, with the primary and telephoto cameras retaining good detail and handling exposure well.

The 50MP ultra-wide camera completes the setup, offering a 15mm equivalent focal length for landscapes, architecture, and group photographs. It supports autofocus, which also makes it useful for close-up photography. While it doesn't quite match the primary and telephoto cameras in challenging lighting, it delivers good results in well-lit conditions. More importantly, the colour reproduction remains reasonably consistent when switching between the different cameras.

A big part of this experience comes down to OPPO's LUMO True Image Engine. The imaging system incorporates a True Color Camera that captures colour information across 24 spectral channels and supports a claimed dynamic range of up to 15EV. This is designed to improve colour accuracy, white balance and exposure, particularly in scenes with mixed lighting. The LUMO Hyper Pixel Engine works with both 200MP sensors to enable 8K Ultra-Clear Photos across five focal lengths. You also get LUMO Framing for smart image reframing and LUMO Color Palette, which offers 18 film-inspired looks while retaining natural-looking skin tones.

Hasselblad's involvement adds another layer to the experience. The Find X10 includes Hasselblad Master Imaging features such as Portrait Mode, Master Mode, and XPAN Mode. Master Mode offers greater control over the final photograph, while XPAN Mode draws inspiration from Hasselblad's panoramic photography heritage to create wider, cinematic-looking images. I also like the selection of film-inspired colour profiles, which gives users more creative freedom without having to rely on third-party editing applications.

Video recording is equally well equipped. The phone supports up to 8K recording at 30fps and 4K recording at up to 120fps on supported cameras. It also supports Dolby Vision recording, professional video controls, and Open Gate Capture. The latter captures a wider portion of the sensor, allowing creators to reframe footage for different aspect ratios without having to shoot separate clips for vertical and horizontal platforms.

And then there is the optional OPPO Hasselblad Teleconverter Kit. This accessory takes the zoom experience further, offering 11x, 20x and 40x zoom options for photographs, alongside up to 4K 60fps video recording. It also includes a dedicated Stage Preset and hybrid OIS and EIS stabilisation. For anyone who frequently photographs concerts, sporting events or distant subjects, this is an interesting addition. The kit is sold separately (Rs 24,999), but it gives photography enthusiasts another reason to consider the Find X10.

Overall, the Find X10 has a versatile camera system, with its dual 200MP sensors doing most of the heavy lifting. The primary and telephoto cameras deliver particularly impressive results, while LUMO's image processing and Hasselblad's photography features add to the experience.

OPPO Find X10: A premium design without the oversized footprint

One of the things we appreciated about the OPPO Find X10 from the beginning was its size. Flagship smartphones have become increasingly large, and while bigger displays are great for entertainment and productivity, not everyone wants to carry a massive handset throughout the day.

The OPPO Find X10 strikes a sensible balance with its 6.59-inch display. It offers plenty of screen real estate without feeling as unwieldy as some of the larger premium smartphones. The phone measures 156.51 x 74.29 x 8.35mm and weighs 216g, which is reasonable considering the amount of hardware packed inside. The design itself is fairly restrained. OPPO has used a metal frame and a one-piece sculpted glass back, with a distinctive camera island that gives the rear panel some character. The company calls this finish Velvet Glass, and I particularly like how the different textures come together.

Our review unit is the Glacier Blue variant. It has a lovely muted blue appearance, with a glossy, translucent-looking finish around the camera island and a more subtle matte texture across the rest of the rear panel. It looks premium without being overly flashy. If blue isn't your preference, the OPPO Find X10 is also available in Mist Grey and Glow Coral.

The attention to detail extends to the front, where the display is surrounded by incredibly slim 0.99mm bezels. This gives the Find X10 a clean appearance and makes the screen feel almost uninterrupted.

In terms of durability, the OPPO Find X10 carries IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It also features an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that can unlock the phone even with wet fingers. The phone includes stereo speakers, an X-axis linear motor for haptic feedback, and a 3D Cryo-velocity Cooling System.

There is also a useful extra button on the side called the Snap Key, which can be configured for shortcuts and quick access to selected functions. It is a small addition, but one that can make everyday interactions more convenient.

Overall, the Find X10 looks and feels like a premium smartphone. More importantly, it manages to offer a relatively comfortable form factor without compromising on the hardware that makes a flagship phone appealing.

OPPO Find X10: The ProXDR display is a treat for the eyes

The OPPO Find X10 holds its own when it comes to the display experience. It features a 6.59-inch ProXDR AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2,768 x 1,272 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate that scales between 1Hz and 120Hz. In supported games, the refresh rate can go up to 144Hz.

The first thing that stands out is how much screen real estate OPPO has managed to offer without making the phone particularly large. The incredibly slim 0.99mm bezels make watching videos, browsing the web and playing games more immersive. The panel also supports a wide BT.2020 colour gamut, HDR Vivid and Dolby Vision, making it well-equipped for consuming HDR content.

In everyday use, the display is a treat to look at. Colours appear rich and vibrant, without looking excessively saturated, while the AMOLED panel delivers deep, inky blacks that make watching movies and videos particularly enjoyable. HDR content looks lovely, with good contrast between bright highlights and darker portions of a scene. Text is crisp, images look detailed, and the high refresh rate makes scrolling through apps and browsing feel wonderfully smooth. Gaming is equally enjoyable, with the fluid animations and responsive touch experience adding to the overall experience.

However, brightness is what we found to be most impressive. OPPO advertises a local peak brightness of 3,600 nits, and I wanted to see how close the display could get to that figure in our testing. Using a lux meter in Digit Test Labs, I recorded 3,360 nits while playing an HDR video with auto brightness enabled. Under full manual brightness, the display registered 2,050 nits.

These are excellent numbers, particularly considering how often advertised peak brightness figures can be difficult to reproduce outside specific testing conditions. The fact that the Find X10 came so close to its advertised 3,600-nit figure during our HDR playback test is genuinely impressive. More importantly, the 2,050-nit reading in manual brightness is equally noteworthy, suggesting that the display has plenty of headroom for outdoor visibility.

OPPO has also paid attention to eye comfort. The display supports high-frequency PWM dimming at 3,840Hz, alongside low-brightness eye protection. It can also reduce brightness considerably for more comfortable viewing in darker environments.

Overall, the Find X10 has an excellent display. Between its high resolution, adaptive refresh rate, Dolby Vision support, slim bezels, and, most importantly, the brightness figures we recorded in Digit Test Labs, there is very little to complain about. The display is hands down one of the phone's strongest features.

OPPO Find X10: Dimensity 9600M and ColorOS 17 keep things moving

The OPPO Find X10 is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9600M processor, built on a 3nm process. It features an all-big-core CPU architecture and is paired with an Arm Mali Drage MC12 GPU. The phone comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of fast UFS 4.1 storage.

In everyday use, the OPPO Find X10 is simply fast and smooth, but do we even need to mention this, given the hardware on offer?! For what it’s worth, app launches are quick, animations are fluid, and switching between multiple applications doesn't feel like a chore. We also like how responsive the interface feels when navigating through ColorOS 17. There is enough processing headroom here for demanding applications, multitasking, and everyday productivity without the phone feeling like it is working particularly hard.

To put its performance into perspective, we ran the phone through our usual benchmark suite in Digit Test Labs. In AnTuTu v12, the Find X10 scored an impressive 3,421,049 points, with the CPU contributing 1,039,296 points and the GPU scoring 1,248,954 points. On Geekbench 7, it recorded 2,480 points in the single-core test and 8,588 points in the multi-core test. These are strong results and establish the Dimensity 9600M as a capable top-tier flagship chipset.

GPU performance is equally encouraging. In 3DMark Wild Life Extreme, the Find X10 scored 7,185 points, with an average frame rate of 43.03fps. I also spent time gaming on the phone, particularly playing BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile. Both games support 120fps gameplay, and having that higher frame-rate option makes a noticeable difference to how responsive the games feel. Movements, camera pans, and fast-paced encounters feel considerably smoother, which is particularly useful in competitive multiplayer matches.

Equally, another important aspect is thermal management, particularly when pushing a flagship processor this hard. OPPO has equipped the Find X10 with its 3D Cryo-velocity Cooling System to manage heat during demanding workloads. During our Wild Life Extreme testing, the benchmark monitor recorded a temperature of 41.8°C. The phone does get warm under sustained loads, as you would expect, but the recorded temperature is reasonable for a demanding graphics test. OPPO has also introduced its Laminar Flow Engine, which works alongside the processor to manage system resources and maintain responsiveness.

On the software front, the phone runs ColorOS 17 based on Android 17. OPPO has worked on making the interface feel smoother, with its Luminous Rendering Engine and Unified Rendering Architecture handling animations and transitions. The interface is fluid, customisable and offers plenty of options to personalise the overall experience.

There is also a healthy selection of AI features. AI Mind Pilot is designed to organise information and carry out tasks based on user instructions, while AI Photo Agent brings natural-language editing capabilities to the Gallery app. AI Mind Suggest can surface relevant information when needed, and OSee provides visual intelligence features. You also get Circle to Search, Gemini integration, and a range of productivity tools.

OPPO Find X10: The 8,000mAh battery delivers excellent endurance

The OPPO Find X10 packs an 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is considerably larger than what you get on most flagship smartphones. More importantly, it delivers excellent endurance in our testing. In the PCMark Work 3.1 battery life benchmark, the phone lasted 29 hours and 43 minutes. That's an impressive result and one of the strongest aspects of the Find X10. Considering that the phone also has a high-resolution AMOLED display, a flagship processor, and two 200MP cameras, this level of endurance is particularly welcome.

OPPO claims up to 21 hours of video streaming and eight hours of sustained 120fps gaming. In my usage, the Find X10 has been particularly reassuring when it comes to battery life. I could spend time doing a bunch of things on the phone, including video calls, taking photos and videos, doomscrolling Instagram, and playing games without constantly worrying about the battery percentage.

Charging is handled by 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. OPPO also includes a compatible wired charger in the box, along with a USB Type-C cable and protective case.

OPPO Find X10: Should you buy it?

We are quite impressed with what OPPO has managed to put together with the Find X10. It gets a lot of the fundamentals right, but what makes it particularly appealing is how well-rounded the overall experience feels. The camera system is ambitious, the display is excellent, performance is every bit what I would expect from a premium flagship, and the battery life is quite impressive.

To give a quick recap — we enjoyed testing the display. Recording 3,360 nits during HDR playback and 2,050 nits in manual brightness in our Digit Test Labs is no small feat. The camera hardware also gives photography enthusiasts plenty to explore, with two 200MP sensors, Hasselblad Master Imaging and OPPO's LUMO True Image Engine. Then there's the 8,000mAh battery, which lasted an impressive 29 hours and 43 minutes in our PCMark Work 3.1 battery test. These aren't just attractive numbers; they also make a tangible difference to what you get out of the phone.

The 6.59-inch form factor and the Glacier Blue finish are also lovely. The OPPO Find X10 looks understated, feels premium, and is comfortable to use without compromising on screen real estate. ColorOS 17 adds plenty of customisation and useful AI features, while the Dimensity 9600M has more than enough performance for demanding everyday tasks and gaming.

At Rs 1,39,999 for the 256GB variant and Rs 1,69,999 for the 512GB model, the OPPO Find X10 is certainly a premium purchase. However, considering everything it brings to the table, including an excellent display, a top-notch camera system, flagship performance, and outstanding battery endurance, the Find X10 deserves serious consideration, particularly if these are the things you value most in a smartphone.
