1.Anushka at first declined to play the role of Mamta in this movie, stating that she won't be able to bring justice to the character. After getting convinced by the director Sharat, she finally agreed. She got rave reviews for her performance in the movie.
2.The movie was first offered to Ranbir Kapoor who loved the script. Eventually, he chose to decline the offer due to scheduling conflicts with "Brahmastra - Part I".
3.Varun Dhawan learned tailoring for one month to prepare for his character.

Since in the film, Mauji is supposed to look well versed with handloom, he decided to perfect the same and met real handloom workers to learn the art of dyeing fabrics. He learnt dyeing from real handloom artists in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh.
5.Film is based on Make in India campaign.Launched by Indian government in 2014.Which was started to promote textile industries.
6.Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan learned to operate the sewing machine and sew embroidery.
7.Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan worked in a textile factory in Faridabad for four days to learn how small scale business works.
8.Just before the release of the film, the makers promoted it using 'Sui Dhaga Challenge', in which they gave challenges to various Indian celebrities to put thread in needle.
9.Anushka's name appears before Varun's name in the film-credits.
10.Anushka Sharma was popular in social media sites, due to her expressions in this film.
