1. The character of Morbius can also be glimpsed in the bonus features of the Blade (1998) DVD, in a deleted ending.
2. Matt Smith joined the film, after previously turning down other superhero film roles, due to director Daniel Espinosa's involvement and encouragement from his former Doctor Who co-star Karen Gillan, who portrays Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Spider-Man: No Way Home, another Marvel film associated with the Marvel Cinematic Universe was dated for release in the United States on July 16, 2021 to November 5, 2021, and again to December 17, 2021.
14. With this movie both Jared Leto and Michael Keaton will have played characters from both DC and Marvel. Leto in Suicide Squad as The Joker and the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters, while Keaton will have participated both in this universe as well as the MCU and as the titular Batman in the DC Film Universe.
15. According to late comic book writer/penciler Gil Kane, the look of the original Marvel Comics character Morbius was based on actor Jack Palance. Palance portrayed Carl Grissom in Batman (1989) and his character is killed by the Joker (Jack Nicholson). Jared Leto played the Joker in Suicide Squad (2016) and Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021) and Michael Keaton portrayed the titular Batman (1989).
16. Matt Smith (Loxias Crown/Hunger) had previously played Doctor Who. The Doctor had faced off with a rival Time Lord named Morbius in 1976, in the Doctor Who (1963) four-parter "The Brain of Morbius".
17. This is Jared Harris's second comic-book role, after Tales of the Black Freighter (2009).
