Poppy lives in the historic but rough around-the-edges Gregory building when she and her long-time boyfriend, executive chef Joel, plan to get married and live in his more modern apartment. Ingrid hires a marketing company - Aspire to lead the campaign for her new line of makeup. Milo Asher the president of Aspire agrees to work on the company’s campaign only if Poppy leads it. This is the job that Poppy has always dreamed of.  He later reveals to Poppy he wants to lease an apartment in the Gregory building. Her life turns upside down when she fakes an engagement with her boss’s handsome new client, Milo. She does it to win over her strict building manager and get Milo the penthouse suite.
