1. Govinda, who had shot scenes for the film before the script was complete, was cut from the film. Jackie Shroff and Amitabh Bachchan were both considered to replace him. However, after rewrites and redeveloping the characters, Saswata Chatterjee of Kahaani fame finally bagged the role.

3. Ranbir Kapoor's first production he wanted to revive his family banner RK films started by his grandfather Raj Kapoor after the film as the film was in making for long he dropped the idea and decided not to produce any films further.

6. After years of delays, the film was finally planned for release on 12th May 2017, but at the last moment, Anurag Basu decided to re-shoot some scenes which pushed the release date back once again to 14 July 2017.
