1. Yash Chopra had intended to film parts of the title song "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" in the Swiss Alps, a favorite shooting location of his. However, after his death, the Switzerland shoot was canceled, as Aditya Chopra did not want to tamper with his father's vision.
2. The movie's release coincided with the 50th anniversary of Yash Chopra's career in Bollywood.
3. The romantic scenes of the film were directed by Yash Chopra's son Aditya Chopra to give the romance a more contemporary feel.
4. Initially, the film shooting was supposed to get started in November 2011. However, it was postponed to January 2012 since Shah Rukh Khan decided to take a break with his family after the release of the films Ra. One (2011) and Don 2 (2011).
