Trivia

1. The first movie ever to be shot in the venue of Madam Tussaud's in London.
2. Redchillies has this special attachment with Trains in their movie., they have a train sequence in every SRK movie. Chennai Express, Swades, RAOne, Happy New Year, Dilwale, and now FAN.
3. Though the exterior of the house of the movie star Aaryan Khanna, played by SRK, is shown to be Mannat which is Shah Rukh Khan's real house, the interiors of the house were a film set. SRK denied permission to shoot inside his home.
4. Actual footage was shot on SDKs birthday secretly last year and this footage was used along with movie footage for the Mannat Sequence where Gaurav sees Aryan for the first time.
5. SRK's first song-less film. The hit song "Jabra Fan" was used during promotions but it didn't feature in the final film.
6. The concept of "Fan" was developed in 2004 by Maneesh Sharma who came to visit SRK residence where he saw crazy fans were waiting to catch the glimpse of their star. By seeing this madness, the idea of making "Fan" clicked in his mind, and wanted to make a film on it.
7. A team of less than 200 VFX artists at RedChillies.VFX worked round the clock day and night for the timely delivery of the movie.
8. The VFX for this movie took almost a year and a half to be completed including the research and development.
9. The name of the movie star Aaryan Khanna is based on SRK's real-life son Aaryan Khan.
10. Shah Rukh Khan was the only choice for the lead role. Director Maneesh Sharma said that had Shah Rukh turned down the film, it would have never been made, even with a different actor.
11. The film had some basic plot inspirations from the Hollywood movie The Fan (1996) but is not a remake of that film.
12. Oscar-winning make-up artist Greg Cannon developed Shah Rukh Khan's 25-year old look.
13. This is the Third Time that Shah Rukh Khan has played a Fictionalized Version Of Himself. The First One Being Om Shant Om (2007) and Billu (2009).
14. Shah Rukh Khan went to the USA for his digital 3D face scanning for this movie.
15. Visual effects of this film were executed by Shahrukh's own Redchillies VFX division. Shah Rukh Khan recently informed a popular daily newspaper that "The VFX in Fan is done like never before seen in the world. Twice Hollywood has strived to do what we have done in Fan and failed."
16. FAN is the 8th collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan & Yash Raj Films in 23 years. The powerhouse combination has worked together in many memorable movies and boasts of a 100% success rate at the box office.

18. Veteran Hindi and Marathi actor Sachin Pilgaonkar's daughter Shriya Pilgaonkar's debut Bollywood film. She played supporting in 'Margarita with a straw'.
