1. The story of Akshay Kumar and his nephew is heavily influenced by the plot of Adam Sandler starrer Big Daddy. The scene at the beginning where he enters Nick Mathur's Birthday bash and the surprise gets wasted is a straight pick up from Big Daddy where Adam is shown to be an irritating slacker just like Akshay's character.
2. John and Akshay come back together after a long period. Last being Garam Masala which was a Blockbuster.
3. John Abraham can be seen wearing the jersey named "Dhoni" with the number '7' which is a direct reference to cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is a good friend of John.
4. This is the directorial debut of Rohit Dhawan.
5. Ajay (Omi Vaidya) calls Jerry (Akshay Kumar) "International Khiladi", which is a film and also a famous name of Kumar.
6. Every time Sanjay Dutt appeared is accompanied by a Khalnayak song tune.
7. Ashwin Mushran who played the defense lawyer, is the official Hindi dubbing artist for Adam Sandler, whose films "Reign Over Me", "Billy Madison" and "Big Daddy" acted as inspirations for some scenes of the film.
8. Rohit Dhawan who directed this film is the son of David Dhawan, who has also worked with Akshay Kumar in "Mr. & Mrs. Khiladi" and "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi".
