Garmin to launch its Fenix 5 series of GPS wearables in India soon

Garmin has announced that it will soon be launching its GPS wearable, the Fenix 5 series, in India. The series includes three versions, Fenix 5, Fenix 5S, and the Fenix 5X. All three sport the company’s Elevate wrist-based heart rate technology and feature multi sport activity modes . The wearables are also Wi-Fi enables and are compatible with the Connect IQ app, which lets users customise their device with apps, widgets and more.

Garmin India., a unit of Garmin Ltd. will soon be launching its newest addition to high-end multisport GPS wearables- the Fēnix 5 series, in the Indian market. The three versions- Fēnix 5, Fēnix 5S and Fēnix 5X are designed with similar functionality of Garmin’s hi-tech GPS handhelds and can be strapped on any wrist size.

Each of the three new Fēnix  5 models come with Garmin’s Elevate wrist-based heart rate technology, a host of multisport activity modes,new Quick Fit bands that can be swapped tool free and is well-equipped for all-day tracking. The watches are Wi-Fi enabled and compatible with Connect IQ, which means users can customize their watch with apps, widgets, data fields and watch faces. They are also compatible with the Face It app, so users can set their favorite photo as a watch face and when paired with a smartphone, it displays call, text and email notifications.

Commenting on the new series Mr. Ali Rizvi, National Sales Manager Garmin India  said: “In the world of wearables, the millennial consumer is constantly watching out for innovative products with lesser or no limitations at all.They want an entire package-flawless design, smart feature set, ease of use and a perfect fit. The Fēnix 5 series from Garmin has all the elements."

The new Fēnix 5 measures 47mm across, slightly smaller than its predecessors (Fēnix 3 models-Fenix 3HR) but still packed with multisport features like a three-axis compass, gyroscope, barometric altimeter as well as the ability to access both GPS and GLONASS satellite networks. All the models are available in a variety of colors and finishes with more accessory bands like the new QuickFit. Users can mix and match between their choice of leather, metal or silicone watchbands and switch between them in seconds with no tools needed.

Sleeker, smaller and lighter than the previous versions, the Fēnix 5S is the perfect smart watch for adventurers with a small wrist size without having to compromise on the multisport utilities. Designed with a focus on female adventurers, the watch measures 42mm and is available in silver with either a white, turquoise or black silicone band with a mineral glass lens.The Fēnix 5S Sapphire features a scratch-resistant sapphire lens and is available in black with a black band, champagne with a water resistant gray suede band or champagne with a metal band. These units also come with an extra silicone QuickFit band.

Preloaded routable cycling maps and other navigation features like Round Trip Run and Round Trip Ride, the Fēnix 5X is at the top of the range. With an all-new industrial design, it measures at 51mmand comes with a scratch-resistant sapphire lens.Users can enter how far they’d like to run or ride and their watch will suggest appropriate courses to choose from. The easy-to-read guidance cues for upcoming turns to make users aware of their route.In addition, there is Around Me map mode to see different points of interest, way points and other map objects within the user’s range that makes them more aware of their surroundings. Fēnix 5X can even be configured to see data overlays on mapping screens and highlight key information without having to switch screens during an activity.

In US Fenix 5 and Fenix 5S priced at $599.99 and 5X priced at $699.99.
