Sony India has launched the Bravia 9 II in India, its flagship television for 2026. The Bravia 9 II (Mark 2) follows the Bravia 7 II (review) that launched recently which is now available to buy. Both TVs use Sony’s new proprietary True RGB LED technology, making them the first Bravia models to use it. This RGB Mini LED technology uses red, green and blue LEDs in the backlight but these are independently controlled rather than generated through a phosphor layer over a two-diode setup. Sony claims this delivers its highest colour volume in home TV, improved brightness control with reduced blooming, deeper blacks, wider viewing angle consistency and more accurate colour even in bright rooms.
The Sony Bravia 9 II has the new Immersive Frame which comprises of the wave-textured bezel, Mirage Stand and concealed cable management for a floating-screen look, paired with a Premium Remote featuring USB-C charging, backlit buttons and Find My Remote.
Picture processing on the Bravia 9 II is powered by the Cognitive Processor XR which analyses each scene in real time to adjust colour, contrast and brightness while preserving the original creative intent, supported by XR Contrast Booster, RGB Triluminos Max, Luminance Booster Pro and Smooth Colour Gradation.
The Bravia 9 II also adds Immersive Black Screen Pro, a low-reflection screen treatment designed to cut glare while preserving black depth in bright rooms. Like the Bravia 7 II, the Bravia 9 II also supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and IMAX Enhanced.
Audio is handled by Acoustic Multi-Audio+ with sound positioning tweeters and up-firing beam tweeters for directional sound, full-range speakers, AI-powered dialogue clarity through Voice Zoom 3 and 3D Surround Upscaling for a wider surround effect.
Both TVs run Google TV, with Gemini for Google TV arriving later through an over-the-air update for AI-based interaction and content discovery. My Cinema mode optimises picture and sound for films, Ambient Optimization adjusts both based on room conditions and Studio Calibrated modes are available for Netflix, Prime Video and Sony Pictures Core, which also offers IMAX Enhanced titles, near Blu-ray quality streaming via Pure Stream and 10 movie credits valid for 24 months.
The Bravia 9 II is available in 75-inch and 85-inch sizes, priced at Rs 5,39,990 and Rs 6,69,990 respectively (MRP Rs 8,39,900 and Rs 9,89,900), going on sale from 29 June. The Bravia 7 II is already available in 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch and 85-inch sizes, priced from Rs 2,21,990 up to Rs 5,29,990. Both are sold through Sony Centre and Sony Exclusive stores, ShopatSC.com, and major retail and e-commerce platforms.
