A rumours doing the rounds that the next iteration of the Redmi 1S smartphone will have dual-LTE SIM slots and a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SoC.

Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi seems to be the subject of every new rumours today. Yesterday, the company was reportedly working on a smartphone with dual-edge display, while an alleged image of the Xiaomi Mi5 had also been leaked. Now, the company is rumoured to be working on a dual-LTE device, which will be launched sometime next year.

According to reports, the successor to the Redmi 1S smartphone, which was rumoured earlier, will be the device to boast dual-LTE SIM card slots. Xiaomi is reportedly going to launch the new version of the Redmi 1S on January 4, that is, this Sunday. The smartphone will reportedly start selling in China soon after that.

Further, reports have also said that the new device will be called the Redmi 2S. It was passed through TENAA in China earlier this month and the specifications include a Snapdragon 410 64-bit SoC along with 1GB of RAM and a 4.7 inch 720p display. It also has an 8MP camera.

While the rumoured specifications of the Redmi 2S are very similar to the predecessor, the new SoC and dual-LTE connectivity is a big addition to the device. The current Redmi 1S doesn’t support LTE connections at all.
