Sony Xperia L and Xperia SP leaked by online retailers

HIGHLIGHTS

Online retailers have leaked two upcoming phones from Sony thanks to pre-order postings.

Listings for two new phones, the Sony Xperia SP (C530X or C5303, codenamed HuaShan) and Xperia L (C210X or C2105, codenamed Taoshan) have appeared on various online retailers such as Amazon and eBuyer. While the two have only put up placeholders, LamdaTek and Irish retailer Micro Aid have put up both the phones for pre-order.

The two phones are devices which we haven’t heard much of before, with no word on what exactly the specifications on the two devices will be. However, this hasn’t stopped keen enthusiasts from taking a crack at what we can expect from the two devices. Allegedly, the Xperia SP could have a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960T chipset, 4.55-inch 720p HD display, 8 megapixel camera, 8GB internal memory with microSD card support and an aluminum body.

The Xperia L will possibly have a 4.3-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) display, 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 8 megapixel camera, 8GB built-in storage with microSD card and 1,700mAh battery. LamdaTek has listed the Xperia SP at £312.98 and the Xperia L at £219.18 with the stock being expected by March 19. Micro Aid, meanwhile, lists the phones at €389.79 and €270.46, respectively, with the stocks arriving on March 12.

The Xperia SP and L have managed to keep quite a low profile so far, leading us to believe that they will be medium segment phones. We wonder whether Sony will hold an announcement event for the two phones and ring us in on the official specs and price of the phones.
