OnePlus is reportedly planning to give its flagship lineup an annual refresh. However, reports indicate that the OnePlus 16R could be a new flagship model from the company, unlike previous years when the number series used to be the most advanced version of the device, followed by the R series. The company is said to skip the OnePlus 16 global launch due to the ongoing global chipset shortage. The smartphone manufacturer has not yet unveiled anything related to the upcoming OnePlus 16R, but the leaks surrounding the OnePlus Ace 7 series have recently surfaced online. OnePlus generally ships the Ace series as the flagship ‘R’ series device in the global market. Here’s everything we have on the upcoming OnePlus 16R device.
The OnePlus 16R is said to come with a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED screen and an 185 Hz refresh rate. It may also support 1.5K resolution, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and 6,000 nits of peak brightness.
Under the hood, the handset is also tipped to draw its power from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Furthermore, it’s also rumoured to get paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. Out of the box, the smartphone may run on ColourOS 17 and an Android 17-based skin.
Leaks also point out that the device may sport a 9,000 mAh battery with 100 W of wired fast charging support. It’s also said to feature an in-built cooling fan and water resistance. In terms of camera, the OnePlus 16R may come with a 200MP main camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, the device also houses a 16MP sensor at the front.

While the company has not yet officially announced anything related to the launch of the upcoming OnePlus 16R, the leaks and rumours point to the handset landing in the Indian market somewhere in November or December 2026.
According to the early leaks, the upcoming OnePlus 16R may be priced close to Rs 70,000. While it’s just speculation, the increase in price is expected because of the ongoing shortage of the memory chipset in the global market. Do note that the official pricing will only be revealed at the time of launch and may differ from the current speculative prices.
