iPhone 18 Roundup: Cupertino-based tech giant Apple recently unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro series and iPhone Duo in India in September this year. Unlike in recent years, the company did not unveil the vanilla model, the iPhone 18, with the handsets due to a changed launch strategy. The successor to the current iPhone 17 is expected to arrive next year.
While the launch is still months away, we already have a lot of details about the device, thanks to the recent leaks and speculation. To give you detailed context, here is everything to expect from the upcoming iPhone 18 when it debuts in India.

The iPhone 18 will likely ship with a 6.3-inch display and a smaller Dynamic Island, MacRumors, citing tipster Ice Universe, reported. As for performance, the device is expected to get an A20 processor based on a 2nm fabrication process. Compared to the existing 3nm A19, the chip is expected to have improved performance and efficiency due to the same wafer module of the CPU, GPU, RAM and neural engine.
The handset could either ship with 9GB or 12GB RAM, tipsters speculate. If the company aims to make AI features more accessible, we can expect it to have significantly more RAM than the iPhone 17. However, Apple might also consider downgrading the device’s specs due to the recent RAM and storage crisis. The changes could include an inferior screen, one less GPU core in the processor and parts sharing with the iPhone 18e.
As for the optics, the Center Stage camera could get updated to 24MP, from the previous 18MP. The Camera Control button is expected to miss out on its capacitive sensing and stick to pressure sensitivity for operations. Apple could use the in-house C2 modem in select regions that could support mmWave 5G connectivity.
Apple could unveil the upcoming vanilla flagship early next year at a spring event, likely in March or April 2027. The device could tag along with the iPhone Air 2 and iPhone 18e.

Considering the iPhone 18 series, iPhone 17 and previous iPhones underwent a major price hike in India, we can expect the iPhone 18 to debut at a significantly higher price than the current base flagship. As of now, users can expect the iPhone 18 to carry a starting price of over 1 lakh.
