South Korean smartphone maker Samsung is expected to launch the Samsung S27 series in India next year. Beyond the regular and Plus models, the company is expected to announce the anticipated successor to the S26 Ultra – Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra. Months before launch, the rumour mill has managed to churn out details about the phone, giving us a rough idea of what the S27 Ultra will pack.
A recent leak revealed the possible colours of the S27 Ultra and a previous one hinted at the battery size. For more context, here are the expected price, launch timeline and specifications of the upcoming flagship.
The successor to the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to have a 6.9-inch QHD+ M16 Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and anti-reflective coating. Like the S26 Ultra, it will likely also offer the Privacy Display feature. Under the hood, the phone may offer a 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 for Galaxy chipset with an Adreno 850 GPU.
Samsung is expected to ship the phone with Android 17 based on the latest One UI version. Plus, the S27 Ultra is expected to get a new suite of Galaxy AI features and seven years of software updates. The S27 Ultra could offer a 5,700mAh battery with 60W wired and 25W wireless charging (and support for reverse wireless charging too).
Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra may offer 12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. Moving to optics, the S27 Ultra will likely have a triple camera setup (200MP primary + 50MP ultrawide + 50MP 5x telephoto) on the back and a 16MP selfie shooter. Samsung may ditch the 3x telephoto sensor for the S26 Ultra’s successor.
Speaking of other notable features, the Ultra device will likely support the signature S Pen functionality and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader. It is rumoured to offer an aluminium frame.
Samsung is expected to announce the phone could start at $1,399. In India, the starting price could sit in the sub Rs 1.6-1.7 lakh category. The S25 Ultra is expected to launch in the country in February 2027. It may be offered in white, black, blue and light pink colourways.
Further, Samsung may also introduce a special Violet colour for the S27 Ultra. However, readers should note that Samsung has not confirmed S27 Ultra’s existence till now. So these details might change before the phone’s possible debut and should be taken with a pinch of salt.
