Rockstar Games reportedly lets select people play GTA 6 early, reviews expected on this date

HIGHLIGHTS

Rockstar Games has reportedly sent GTA 6 review codes to select media outlets, according to Insider Gaming.

The review embargo is reportedly set for November 18, one day before the game's November 19 release.

GTA 6 will launch on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X/S, with pre-orders in India starting at Rs 5,999.

Grand Theft Auto VI is all set to release on November 19 for eligible Sony and Xbox gaming consoles. While we are weeks away from the launch, a recent report claims Rockstar Games is sending out review codes to media outlets so they can play the game and share their views after the embargo ends. According to Insider Gaming, the Take-Two Interactive-owned group has started distributing the review codes to some media outlets. The embargo for releasing the review is reportedly November 18, one day before the game’s release.

This claim adds weight to the information earlier shared by X user (@NateTheHate2). As per the report, the review copies were reportedly sent in October 2026. Sending the codes now and keeping the embargo timeline a day before launch hints that the GTA 6 maker is fine with the media opinion even if it goes live ahead of the much-anticipated release. This implies anyone with these codes can play GTA 6 exclusively for more than three weeks before a wider release.

GTA 6: More updates

GTA 6 is confirmed to arrive on PlayStation 5 and 5 Pro and Xbox Series X and S. A PC release is expected to follow in the first quarter of 2027. This will help the makers monetise GTA 6 faster and recover the massive budget that went into making it. Rockstar Games has released multiple trailers in the past, hinting at the key details of the game. GTA 6 will feature dual protagonists, Jason and Lucia, in a crime-driven plot. While Jason is set to have an Army background, Lucia can be seen emprisoned in the trailer clips.
