The makers of the indie game ‘Hotel Barcelona’ have officially announced that their game is going to be released on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The announcement was made alongside the reveal of the Late Check-Out DLC, which launches on May 21, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Let’s take a look at everything we know about the Switch version of the game so far.

The makers have confirmed that the Switch version is being published by Eden Industries and co-developed with White Owls Inc. Nintendo players will get the complete package, which will include the base game, the major ‘Under New Management’ update, the Late Check-Out DLC, and all gameplay improvements released to date.
Multiplayer has also been confirmed for the Switch versions, and it is being suggested that the game will support 1 to 3 players in standard play and up to 4 players during invasion play, along with online co-op and a PvP invasion mode. The pricing is set at USD $34.99; however, the exact release date has not been confirmed yet.
Honestly, though, the announcement of the Switch version isn’t much of a surprise. Back when I got a chance to speak with Swery on the relaunch of Hotel Barcelona, I had asked him the same question. At the time, he said, “We cannot yet confirm future support for specific platforms, but we can assure you that something is definitely progressing behind the scenes.”

In case you’re unaware about the indie, Hotel Barcelona was originally released in September 2025 for Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game puts players in control of U.S. Marshal Justine Bernstein, whose mind is taken over by a serial killer called Dr. Carnival. The two must survive a nightmarish, ever-shifting hotel packed with traps, killers, and enemies.
Most recently, the game has also introduced a new DLC that pushes beyond the hotel into two new locations called Dusk Valley Golf Resort and the Former Grandall Estate. The developer suggests that each area has been designed around a distinct type of dread. It also adds 2 new boss encounters, 17 new enemy types, additional story content, and expanded combat mechanics.
