BGMI LITE India launch timeline, pre-reservation benefits, size and other leaks

BGMI LITE Updates: Krafton is set to unveil the Battlegrounds Mobile India “LITE” version in India this year. While the company has not given an official release date, the gaming giant opened pre-reservations for the gaming title on August 25, 2026. With the lighter version of the battle royale, Krafton aims to bring the “BGMI experience” to more people while limiting its footprint and reducing the load on the device.

With BGMI LITE, the company aims to draw in users who rely on smartphones with a mediocre chipset that do not have high-end processing power to handle high FPS gameplay, razor-sharp graphics and control thermals during heavy load. The game’s Play Store listing states the game will continue to remain updated alongside BGMI. Hence, new content will drop on both versions together.

BGMI LITE launch timeline

Krafton states on its website that BGMI LITE is scheduled to arrive “later this year”. However, the pre-registration is now live on the Google Play Store. The game maker has also planned rewards for those who pre-register for the game right now. For iOS users awaiting an announcement, the company is yet to share a release timeline.

BGMI LITE: What to expect

As for the details we know so far, players will get the option to log in to their existing BGMI account. The items owned by the account holder will carry forward in “LITE” too and the game will support teaming up with the full version.

The size will be approximately be 1 GB and Krafton is claiming “no forced packages before your first match” in BGMI LITE. Users will also have the option to download only the required module they think they require to save storage space.

BGMI LITE will get the classic Erangel map with supplies and combat contests similar to BGMI. Players will be able to jump in with 100 others, loot weapons and gear. However, players can expect low-resolution graphics and lower FPS gameplay to make the game playable on lower-end phones.
