Get ready for a mix of mystery, drama, and dark humour with Netflix’s new series Sirens, coming out this month. The show stars big names like Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, Milly Alcock, and Kevin Bacon. Sirens is set on a fancy island and combines mystery, mythology, and a touch of dark comedy. The series is based on Molly Smith Metzler’s play Elemeno Pea, which she wrote during her time at the Juilliard School.
Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming dark comedy series Sirens, including its plot, cast and more.
The story follows Devon, played by Meghann Fahy, who travels to a lavish island filled with beautiful mansions and hydrangeas. She’s concerned about her younger sister, Simone (Milly Alcock), who seems to have a creepy relationship with her new boss, Michaela Kell (Julianne Moore).
“Michaela’s cultish life of luxury is like a drug to Simone, and Devon has decided it’s time for an intervention, but she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be. Told over the course of one explosive weekend at the Kells’ lavish beach estate, Sirens is an incisive, sexy, and darkly funny exploration of women, power, and class,” Netflix describes.
